Full-time Faculty Position (Open Rank) in Physics

(Effective August 2024)

The School of Computer Science and Mathematics invites applications for one faculty position (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) in Physics with specialization open. The appointment will start in the Fall of 2024 (August 15, 2024). Responsibilities involve teaching, research, and engaging in extra-curricular and recruitment activities. The position is for an initial three-year contract, renewable upon mutual agreement. The teaching load is negotiable, depending on research output and administrative duties assigned, but it will include at least one section of General Physics each semester. Supervision of undergraduate research projects is expected, and options to develop other courses of interest are available.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Physics from an internationally recognized, accredited university. Applicants should have at least 3 years of teaching experience in higher education.

Compensation

Rank and salary are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Compensation after tax compares favorably with net salaries in Western countries. Limited on-campus housing is available to rent. In addition to salary, a benefits package includes healthcare, reduced tuition rates for KIMEP courses, and a relocation allowance. New faculty members have a reduced teaching schedule during the first semester. Summer paid teaching is typically available. The salary will be subject to a net 10% income tax deduction.
