Professor of Management (m/f) with an emphasis on Leadership

(tenured position)

located at WHU Campus Vallendar / WHU Campus Düsseldorf, starting September 1, 2018 or later.

Academic Environment

WHU has more than 50 faculty members in the fields of management, finance and accounting, economics, entrepreneurship and innovation, marketing and sales, and supply chain management. Research at WHU aims to adhere to three principles: quality, internationality, and relevance to business practice.

This position is based in the Management Group. The Management Group consists of international junior and senior scholars. It is dedicated to excellence in research and teaching. Faculty members publish research on a variety of topics including organizational behavior, strategic management, leadership, human resource management, organizational change, organization theory, management accounting, and information management in leading international business and management journals.

Job Description

  • Publishing high-quality research in top business and management journals.
  • Teaching management subjects, particularly Leadership, in English to WHU Bachelor, Masters and MBA students.
  • Contributing to executive education development and delivery.
  • Contributing to the development of the Management Group and WHU.

Job Qualifications

Candidates must have earned a doctorate in a relevant field and a record of demonstrated excellence in scholarly publications, as well as a demonstrated ability of teaching at the MBA level. WHU expects and strongly supports faculty research leading to publication in top-tier journals. Collegiality and a demonstrated ability to develop and work with others to define and conduct research are important. We welcome applicants interested in individual, interpersonal, group, or organizational phenomena from diverse theoretical and disciplinary perspectives including organizational behavior, human resource management, strategic management, and leadership, among others. We are particularly interested in individuals who demonstrate the willingness and the ability to teach leadership courses in our advanced post-graduate programs.
