Professor for Chair of Excellence in Financial Reporting

As part of its growth strategy, the Department of Accounting and Management Control at ESSEC Business School invites applications for a newly created Chair of Excellence in Financial Reporting based at the Cergy-Pontoise campus in Greater Paris for a starting date of September 1, 2019 or upon agreement. The chair is expected to assume a leadership position in consolidating and developing the reputation and expertise of the existing research team in the Department. Potential to apply for European Research Council (ERC), E.U., and French research grants is expected.

Your Profile

  • Candidates should have an exceptionally strong and recognized research record with publications in top-tier journals.
  • Research expertise may include (but is not limited to) empirical capital markets/auditing/corporate governance.
  • Past records of leadership experience at national or international accounting associations and/or editorial boards of top-ranked accounting journals are preferable.
  • Candidates should demonstrate a successful record in supervising and placing PhD students and a history of conducting research with junior faculty.
  • Candidates must be able to teach in English.
