What You Will Do

The UC Business School, in Christchurch, New Zealand, invites applications for the continuing/tenured position of lecturer/senior lecturer in management. The Canterbury region, where the Business School is located, is New Zealand's fastest growing regional economy, and is rapidly transforming its economic base to meet the future needs of business. Not only is this a region with a strong agribusiness sector, it has strong construction and manufacturing sectors and is home to some of Australasia's most innovative and successful software, hardware and electronics companies. The lecturer/senior lecturer position is located in the Department of Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship (MME). MME is one of three constituent departments/units in the UC Business School, and is one of the leading management departments within New Zealand. In the 2018 Performance-Based Research Funding rankings undertaken for all universities every six years, the Department was ranked third in management. MME provides a vibrant and collegial environment, internal research funding and sabbatical leave, and since 2014, has been located in a newly refurbished building in the heart of the Ilam campus.

Who You Are

Applicants should have completed a PhD in a field of management (e.g., HRM, organisational studies, organisational leadership, strategic management, change management, communication management, diversity management, performance management, CSR) and provide clear evidence of the ability to produce high-quality research in one or more of these areas. This should include a record of publications in quality peer-reviewed academic journals and/or the acceptance and presentation of peer-reviewed full articles at leading international academic conferences that are suitable for publication in internationally recognised high-quality academic journals. Applicants should be experienced in the application of qualitative methods, be willing and able to teach basic and advanced courses in HRM as well as introductory and advanced courses in other management fields such as organisational behaviour. Candidates with industry and/or teaching experience in HRM would be strongly considered for the position.
