Assistant Professorship (Tenure Track) in Political Science with a focus in International Political Economy (IPE)

The University of St Gallen and its Department of Political Science invite outstanding candidates to apply for a tenure track assistant professorship in the field of International Political Economy (IPE) understood as the interaction between political and economic agents and processes in international relations.

We are looking for an excellent scholar with specialization in at least one of the following issue areas: international development; international-domestic interactions (including rise of populism, neo-authoritarianism, etc.); international financial markets & regulation; transnational social movements; transnational mass migration.

We would particularly welcome applicants with substantial area expertise beyond Western Europe and North America.

Applicants should have a doctorate in political science, a promising research agenda, and a willingness to collaborate on research and teaching with scholars from other fields, notably economics, law, and management.

The successful candidate is expected to conduct research at the highest international standards within his or her own field of specialization and to teach 1-2 courses per semester in English in the university’s programmes in International Affairs and Governance.

The Department of Political Science is a member of the School of Economics and Political Science (SEPS) and offers excellent research conditions and a stimulating academic environment. Through its collaborations, research centres and exchange programmes, it maintains a wide international network. The SEPS is committed to promoting young scholars in their career advancement.
