Applications are invited for a Lecturer/Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Financial Technologies (FinTech) post within UCD College of Business

The UCD College of Business has considerable expertise within the discipline of financial & operational risk, corporate finance, asset pricing and alternative finance (e.g. aviation finance). With the financial-technology revolution continuing apace, we would like to extend our existing interests and strengths to the financial technology space.  We now wish to appoint a Lecturer/Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in Financial Technologies (FinTech) to give focus and impetus to this commitment.

The UCD College of Business is committed to forging a deeper understanding of the role of technology in finance in relation to investment management, the implications of big data in terms of financial analytics, with a particular focus on methods and applications and the development of work practice and product innovations within the financial services industry. The role of Lecturer/Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Financial Technologies (FinTech) will primarily be an academic leadership position guiding the interaction between finance, technology and data science.

Applications are invited from candidates who have a track record of, and commitment to, leadership in research and teaching which deepens our understanding of the critical issues in Financial Technologies (FinTech) with particular focus on artificial/augmented intelligence (AI) for finance, machine learning, data-driven investment management (e.g. scientific active investing, smart beta and robo advising), big data applications, risk management, cyber security, anti-money laundering, model risk assessment, textual analysis, climate data science and/or visual pattern recognition. It is expected that the postholder will assume a key leadership role in the development of new programme offerings at postgraduate and executive education level in the area of Financial Technologies (FinTech). It is also expected that the postholder will actively engage with industry to develop educational and research linkages.

95 Lecturer/Assistant Professor ATB Salary Scale: €53,773 - €84,544 per annum.


95 Associate Professor Salary Scale: €69,865 - €97,595 per annum.

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guideline
