To foster the continuous development of entrepreneurship and innovation at Ecole polytechnique, the department of Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship invites applications at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in the field of Strategy and/or Marketing, and Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship. Two full time positions are open. Applications should be made before March 1st 2020.

About the school

Ecole polytechnique is a leading French engineering school. The school offers management courses to strongly selected engineering students with a high-level scientific background and a pluri-disciplinary curriculum. Ecole polytechnique is developing Master of Science and Technology degrees, bachelor degrees and executive education programs in addition to the historical polytechnicien engineering degree, MSc programs and PhD programs. Because of the identity of the school and its role in the development of science and technology, innovation management strategy and entrepreneurship are crucial in these programs.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidates will hold a PhD in management, demonstrate an active research agenda, a solid record of publications and/or the recognition of her/his research at an international level (especially for the associate professor or professor position) and the potential to publish in leading academic journals (for the assistant professor position). He/she will provide evidence of strong teaching skills for a varied audience from bachelor to executive profiles. An experience of teaching engineering students or involvement in mixed academic programs (with either a business or a scientific background) would be appreciated.

The successful candidates will potentially teach courses in the following domains: Corporate strategy, sustainable development, responsible consumption, business model innovation and entrepreneurship and societal issues.

Considering the current clean energy transition, École Polytechnique, is committed to incorporate sustainable development as a strategic pillar in research and education. It has launched an ambitious and multidisciplinary research program on energy transition and is a founding member of the EUR Energy for Climate. The successful candidate is expected to develop an original research activity in relation to these issues. Teaching will be mainly in English. However, a good working knowledge of the French language would be a strong asset, for informal interactions with other faculties and working activity with administrative staff and the development of company projects.
