The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg invites applications for a:

Postdoctoral researcher in PUBLIC ECONOMICS

  • Fixed-term 24-months contract, extendable depending on the acquisition of external funding
  • Full-time position, 40 h/week
  • Foreseen starting date: SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2020

Your Role

  • The post-doctoral researcher will be working within the Department of Economics and Management and she/he is expected to contribute to research in the area of public economics. We particularly encourage researchers whose researcher bridges public economics with international economics and/or microeconomics, theoretically and/or empirically
  • The main tasks include writing academic papers, participating actively in the life of the department (e.g. seminars, workshops), and interacting with the Ph.D. candidates
  • A contribution to teaching activities (up to 2 hours a week) is expected
  • The post-doctoral researcher will be under the supervision of Prof. Skerdilajda Zanaj

Your Profile

  • PhD degree in Economics
  • Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in English; good understanding of a second language and possibly a third language, French or German in particular, would be considered an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of econometrics packages and being able to autonomously conduct research at a post-doctoral level;
  • Willingness to work in an inter-cultural and international environment
  • Curiosity and self-motivation
