Assistant Professor in Financial Accounting and/or Auditing

About the position

NHH in Bergen, Norway, invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor in Financial Accounting and/or Auditing at the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Law, starting in August 2021 or on a mutually agreed date.The duration of the contract for this position is four years normally.

We seek to fill the position with an early-career candidate with a focus on archival financial accounting research or auditing research (quantitative or qualitative). Applicants must have a Ph.D. in accounting or a related field from an accredited institution by the start date of the job. Applicants should have a strong commitment to research and teaching excellence and demonstrate the ability to publish in leading academic journals.

Faculty members at NHH are expected to be good teachers. The appointee is expected to be involved in teaching on average of one course per year and do some student supervision in degree programs at bachelor, masters and PhD levels. Formal pedagogical education and practical experience with teaching will count positively for the job.

Experience with teaching and international research cooperation will be given weight as well. Appointees who are not fluent in the Scandinavian language will need to attend Norwegian language classes.
