We are looking to make a faculty appointment in the Business & Management Department at the rank of

Assistant Professor of Business Law and Accounting (f/m/d)

Full-time (40 hours/week), starting date: as soon as possible

The Assistant Professor of Business Law and Accounting will be responsible for teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, maintaining an active research agenda and scholarly profile, as well as participating in departmental and university service activities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, with a focus on Business Law, Business Ethics, CSR and Financial/Managerial Accounting
  • Maintain a scholarly output
  • Attend and present papers at international scholarly conferences
  • Participate in research grant applications
  • Advise students on academic matters, degree planning and supervise undergraduate and graduate theses

Your profile:

  • Doctorate in Economics and Business Administration, Law, or related field (candidates expecting to receive their doctorate prior to May 30, 2021 may be considered).
  • Proven experience in accounting e.g. CPA or similar licenses in taxation
  • Rank-appropriate scholarly track record
  • Rank-appropriate experience in grant writing
  • Teaching excellence in English

As required by Austrian federal law we are obliged to disclose the minimum annual gross compensation for this position, which starts at 46,000.- EUR (40 hours/week; all-in); the final salary is depending on the basis of qualifications and experience.

The applicant must have the legal right to work in Austria.

Candidates are initially employed on a three-year all-in contract, in which annual performance agreements orientate the department and individual teaching, research and service goals. After three years and a successful evaluation, the employment relationship is then based on an unlimited contract.
