Admission Requirements

The selection is open to applicants who have:

  1. obtained the national academic qualification as full or associate professor according to art. 16 L. 240/2010, OR
  2. had for at least three years, even if not consecutive, contracts as fixed-term researcher for at least three years according to art. 24 paragraph 3 letter a) of Law 240/2010 (junior), or contracts as research fellow according to art. 51 paragraph 6 of Law 449/97 and amendments, or according to art. 22 of Law. 240/2010, OR
  3. a postdoctoral research scholarship according to art. 4 of Law 398/89, or equivalent contracts or scholarships in foreign universities or foreign research centers, or contracts as a fixed-term researcher for at least three years. 1, paragraph 14 of Law 230/2005.

Ph.D. or equivalent qualification obtained in Italy or abroad is mandatory.
Candidates who do not possess the admission requirements are not eligible to participate.

Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna was founded in 1088, and it is considered the oldest university in the Western World. The position will be hosted by the Department of Management (DiSA) that coordinates several undergraduate Master's programs and participate in the activities of Bologna Business School, the business school of the University of Bologna, to which the candidate will be invited to contribute. Additionally, since 1992, DiSA offers a Ph.D. program in Management.
The Department of Management at the University of Bologna provides a dynamic research environment in which faculty members and distinguished visitors conduct both applied and theoretical research in all areas. A unique insight into the entrepreneurial and innovation processes, which involve significant societal changes. The Department of Management ranks first among the Italian Departments in the area of Economics, Management, and Statistics (according to the 2018 "Dipartimenti di eccellenza" project).
It is composed of three branches in the towns of Bologna, Forlì, and Rimini.
The Marketing Group at the Department is well-known for its leading marketing research and quality of publications. The research activity spans into three areas, consumer behavior and decision making, marketing modeling and database marketing, and marketing management and strategy. Faculty members have strong expertise in applying statistical and modeling techniques as well as in the design of experiments and field experiments to analyze data in various forms. The group's mission is to generate relevant and reliable insights that can contribute to the advancement of marketing as a discipline and provide actionable managerial tools to support the next generation of leaders.

Expected Activities

The contract shall schedule 60 hours per year at the School of Economics and Management, plus 350 hours of supplementary teaching and assistance to students (thesis supervision, office hours for students, etc.).
The selected candidate must participate actively and consistently in the international communities of his field of interest and the department activities and contribute significantly to their enhancement.
The target at the end of the three years to be considered for tenure consists of either at least three articles ranked in classes 3 or 4, or 1 article ranked 4* according to the classification of the Association of Business Schools (ABS) Journal Quality Guide, or in a cumulated SJR (SCIMAGO Journal Rank) index greater or equal to 14.2 or 138 Scopus citations in the last five years.
