The department of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) is looking for an Assistant professor in the area of strategic management and entrepreneurship.
Your role
Will you grab our available tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in the department of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM)? We are looking for candidates with the potential to build a record of excellence in both research and teaching. You should have a doctorate degree or be in your final year of dissertation research. Our search is not limited to any individual sub-discipline of the broader strategic management field, although the Department would like to strengthen in some areas such as business-level strategies, innovation strategies, and digital strategies.

Your required competences
We take pride in RSM’s high-performance research culture and its focus on positive change. Erasmus University ranks third in Europe in terms of 2013-2018 UTD top journal output. Faculty members routinely publish in top tier journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Organization Science and Management Science. RSM faculty members also regularly serve as (associate) editors of top journals like Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, and Journal of Management Studies.

The position could start as early as August or September 2021. Erasmus University has attractive employment conditions, which include a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent and a considerable amount of vacation days.

Department
The department belongs to Europe’s strongest Strategy departments in terms of research output and impact. It consists of over approximately 40 teachers and researchers, including about 10 PhD candidates. It has excellent contacts with national and multinational businesses, and has a number of internationally renowned professors. Education and research are focused on strategic management, global strategy, family business, individual and corporate entrepreneurship, co-operation and competition between companies, and strategic renewal. The department has several research platforms, such as the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship and the Erasmus Centre for Family Business; they deliver pioneering research in specific areas of strategy.
