Research Fellow for the Workplace Health & Resilence Research Initiative

The Position’s mission

The Research Fellow will be involved in multiple concurrent research projects within the newly launched Workplace Health & Resilience initiative at IMD. The Research Fellow will work closely with IMD faculty members and also collaborate with a group of inter-institutional and inter-disciplinary researchers under the Enterprise for Society (E4S) auspices, which brings together researchers from IMD, UNIL and EPFL.

Overall, the Research Fellow will support in the development and dissemination of IMD’s thought leadership with respect to Health, Stress & Resilience in the workplace. This will involve a number of aspects such as:

  • Developing and supporting a novel and relevant research agenda: literature review, study design, exploring novel research methodologies, survey development, processing and analysis of both qualitative, quantitative, and archival data
  • Dissemination of thought leadership: writing academic research articles (targeted at top international journals), practitioner-oriented articles, reports and case studies, and supporting the integration/transfer of research insights into IMD programs and engagement platforms
  • Project management: Supporting with outreach and events, and work closely with IMD partners involved with this initiative.

Key activities & accountabilities

  • Design research projects and collect data under the supervision of IMD faculty.
  • Analyse and draw insights from qualitative and quantitative data in a structured manner. The work will range from case studies to large scale data studies.
  • Produce academic articles to be published in top academic outlets (FT50)
  • Produce practitioner-oriented articles, reports, case studies, and other forms of output.
  • Work collaboratively with other researchers within IMD and across E4S

Ideal profile

  • Ph.D. in Organizational Behaviour, Social Psychology and/or another relevant discipline
  • Demostrated potential to publish in top peer reviewed journals
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods .
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and proactively with minimum supervision
  • Collaborative and capable of working in multi-disciplinary environment
  • Deadline and results oriented
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Full fluency in English (written and spoken) at a native level or equivalent. Other languages – in particular French – are a plus.

Research Fellow, Health, Stress & Reseliance

Location: Lausanne, Switzerland
Salary: CHF 85,000 – 105,000 gross per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Full Time (40 hours)
Contract Type: 3 Years, Fixed-Term with possibility of extension
