About the Role and About You

In order to support the continuing development of the Centre for Business Performance, we are looking to appoint an outstanding individual as Lecturer / Senior Lecturer. Reporting to the Director of the Centre, you will already have a Doctorate or equivalent (Senior Lecturer) or be very close to completion (Lecturer) in performance measurement, performance management, management control, organisational / corporate governance or a closely related field.

The role involves responsibilities and expertise in four key areas to various degrees depending on whether you apply for the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer role. All these areas are closely interrelated and will help you develop a well rounded academic profile:

  • Research: You will be expected to develop intellectual leadership by building a strong portfolio of research in our core knowledge areas, developing impactful contributions to both academic and practitioner audiences.
  • Education: You will be expected to design and deliver education and enriching learning experiences in our masters and executive development programmes.
  • Community engagement: You will be expected to engage with practice through our industry-related events in which research knowledge is shared and discussed.
  • Citizenship: You will be expected to contribute to the development of the School and the University through your active participation in relevant committees and other groups and activities.

Performance measurement and management is highly valued in the University and in industry, so this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution in this stimulating and critical field.

In return, you will have interesting opportunities for career development, ensured academic freedom, an engaging intellectual home, and a supportive team and research environment.

This appointment will be on permanent basis. The job may require travelling across the UK or overseas for the delivery of specific teaching programmes.

We welcome applications from individuals across the fields of performance measurement, performance management, management control and organisational governance.
