The research carried out at the Department of Business Administration in the School of Business and Governance in TalTech deals with various aspects of business: marketing, sociology, social psychology, entrepreneurship, rural development, urban studies, knowledge and technology transfer, strategic management, supply chain management, accounting and performance management. The School has over 200 employees.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the Postdoctoral Researcher position is to undertake original research, assist in applying for research funding applications, and assist in setting up a Research Centre in Service Marketing and Strategy.

The selected candidate will work closely with Professor Edward Kasabov in the Department of Business Administration at TalTech. Applications are invited from candidates with an interest in, but not limited to, research themes in Service Marketing and Management, Relationship Marketing as well as Data Management and / or Data Mining. Applicants are expected to build upon and extend critical scholarship on services, including in areas of service control, service disciplining, individual / consumer / customer / citizen rights, service surveillance (including with implications for democracy and balance of power between customers and service providers). The post-holder is expected to contribute to research and development as well as small-scale teaching-related activities (incl. teaching and mentoring students). The post-holder will work alongside Prof Edward Kasabov in setting up a Research Centre in Service Marketing and Strategy.

Qualification requirements

  • Previous background in marketing, sociology, social psychology, politics, or organisational behaviour is strongly desirable. However, outstanding candidates from other disciplines and especially those with solid, proven qualitative or quantitative research and analysis skills as well as established research experience would be considered. Previous experience in successfully seeking research and other funding is also desirable.
  • Candidates should have successfully defended their PhD within the past 5 years.
  • A publication track record and a healthy publication pipeline are essential.
  • Language skills: English (advanced).
