About the position

NHH in Bergen, Norway, invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor in Information Systems at the Department of Strategy and Management. The Information Systems group conducts interdisciplinary research on organizational change involving information and communication technology (ICT) in collaboration with companies and industries. Our research involves studies employing empirical methods of how digital technologies are changing and challenging organizations at all levels: strategy, management, decision making, organizational structures and work processes, competences, and skills.

We are seeking ambitious candidates early in their careers, who can document relevant research and teaching capabilities within information systems or adjacent fields. The Department offers a stimulating research environment with internationally renowned research groups in a wide range of fields, providing high quality research and teaching.

The position is for a duration of four years.

The applicants will be assessed based on an overall evaluation of documented professional competence, and a doctoral degree from an accredited institution is required. Scientific competence will be evaluated in terms of the amount and quality of research and the ability to publish in leading academic journals.

Faculty members at NHH are expected to be good teachers. The appointee is expected to be involved in teaching on average of one course per year and student supervision in degree programs at the master level, and must take one basic module of the programme for university pedagogy in the course of the fixed-term period. The Information Systems group's researchers teach several courses at the bachelor and master level, including business intelligence, business process management, project management, spreadsheeting and data modelling, digitalization and robotization. For this position, we particularly seek applicants who can teach business intelligence, spreadsheeting and data modelling. We are especially interested in applicants who can communicate in a Scandinavian language, as well as have formal pedagogical education and practical experience with teaching.

In addition to submitting written documentation, possible appointees will be required to meet for an interview, and to give a trial lecture and/or a seminar.

Salary is negotiable according to Norwegian State Salary Scale for Assistant Professor.
