As part of a continuing growth initiative, the Department of Management of Tilburg University invites applications for the following five positions.

Job description

The faculty members of Management Department conduct research in information management, supply chain management and entrepreneurship from a variety of theoretical and methodological perspectives to lead digital transformation and take on current societal challenges. The members of the department are listed here. Department members come from leading universities in North America, Asia, and Europe. We are a diverse and collegial group of research-oriented colleagues, including a terrific group of junior and recently hired scholars. The working language of the department and school is English. In addition to the bachelor’s programs, the department is hosting five master’s programs. In addition, the department houses Ph.D. programs, which prepare researchers for productive academic careers with excellent international placements.

The department has a very strong research orientation with a focus on high-quality publications. Faculty members publish widely in UT Dallas journals such as ASQ, AMJ, SMJ, OrgSci, JIBS, MgtSci, MISQ, ISR, JOC, JOOM, POM and MSOM. We are looking for candidates with demonstrated research excellence in the form of multiple top publications at UT Dallas journals and other evidence of scholarly impact, plus evidence of teaching, service and grant leadership ability. We aim to maximize the research time available to research-active faculty. The teaching load for tenure-track faculty is the equivalent of two courses per year plus supervision of bachelor’s and master’s theses. We expect multiple publications in top journals over the tenure clock. Research time allocation for tenured faculty is a function of individual performance and preferences, but research towards publications in top journals remains a priority at all ranks. Compensation is competitive and among the top in Dutch universities. In addition, we provide guaranteed travel and starting research budgets.

Your profile

For the Assistant Professor Tenure Track position, we seek candidates with exceptional research potential and strong teaching ability, whose work fits our orientation towards information management, supply chain management, or entrepreneurship from a managerial and empirical perspective.

The candidate must have obtained, or expect to obtain shortly, a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a closely related field. Ph.D. candidate applicants will be expected to complete their Ph.D. prior to taking up employment.

For the Associate Professor position, we are looking for candidates with demonstrated research excellence in the form of multiple top publications and other evidence of scholarly impact, plus evidence of teaching, service, and grant leadership ability.

We can hire applicants to join the Department in any month during 2022. For the position of Assistant Professor, we offer a full-time tenure-track position for six years. Tenure decisions for Assistant Professors are made in their fifth year based on performance indicators agreed upon at the start of the appointment. We expect that you have the potential to grow towards an Associate Professor and/or Full Professor role in the future.

You are entitled to a holiday allowance amounting to 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% of your gross yearly income. Faculty moving to the Netherlands may be eligible for 30% tax abatement for a period of five years.
