Job Description

The Graduate Institute of Finance (GIF) under School of Management at National Taiwan University of Science & Technology (Taiwan Tech) is inviting applications for the position of a full-time faculty at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in Finance, starting in August 2022.

All appointees are expected to contribute to teaching excellence and to actively engage in promoting the growth of the GIF. Applications from qualified scholars in all specialty areas of finance will be considered. Individuals with expertise in FinTech, Asset Pricing, Fixed-Income Securities, Financial accounting, and Econometrics are especially encouraged to apply. Language of instruction at the GIF is English and Mandarin Chinese.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The appointed candidate will be expected to:

  • Develop and teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in finance
  • Teach courses in Econometrics, Financial Theory, and Financial accounting…etc
  • Engage in innovative approaches to learning and teaching;
  • Publish high quality research in leading economic journals;
  • Participate in the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and/or dissertations;
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Chair of the Institute

Minimum Qualification

  • A PhD degree in Finance from an internationally recognized university
  • Experience in teaching Finance at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Demonstrated ability to publish in leading economic journals
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both Mandarin Chinese and English
  • Demonstrated ability to provide courses in Econometrics, Financial Theory, Financial Accounting…etc

Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and a strong research and publication potential/record in FinTech, Asset Pricing, Fixed-Income Securities, Financial Accounting, and Econometrics etc. Industrial and professional experience is a plus.
