The Role
We seek to appoint three outstanding Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Accounting. You must be able to demonstrate research excellence as evidenced by high quality publications and deliver excellent teaching. You will have a strong research and scholarly trajectory in the discipline of accounting with significant potential to generate research income and to pursue impact activities. For the Lecturer role, we expect you to have the potential to develop an international reputation, For Senior Lecturers, we would expect this to already be established. You will be committed to the success and development of Newcastle University Business School. You will join the dynamic and vibrant Accounting and Finance subject group within a business school that is committed to collegiality and academic citizenship.

For the Senior Lecturer position, you must have a PhD in a relevant subject and will be expected to provide academic leadership commensurate with a senior lectureship position in our School. For the Lecturer position, you must have a PhD or be nearing completion (i.e. strictly within three months of submission at the time of application for the role), or a good track record of publications.

Qualifications

  • A good Honours degree (preferably in a relevant subject).
  • PhD in Accounting at or near completion i.e. strictly within three months of submission at time of application; or a good track record of publications.
  • A profile with currency which meets external accreditation bodies criteria.
  • Qualified membership of Professional Body (for example ICAEW/ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA) as appropriate to the Subject Area (Desirable).

Additional Qualifications - Senior Lecturer (Essential)

  • A PhD in Accounting.
  • HE Teaching qualification (or equivalent experience).
