Introduction
Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna was founded in 1088, and it is considered the oldest university in the Western World. The University of Bologna boasts over 87000 students enrolled, 32 Departments, 5 Schools, 5 Campuses, and nearly 6000 employed as instructors or support staff. UNIBO offers 78 international degree programs, 62 of which are delivered in English, 47 Ph.D. programs, 53 specialization schools, and 80 Master's programs. This heterogeneous nature diversified structure and investment in services' professionalization ensures reliable institutional support for the research team.
The position will be hosted by the Department of Management (DiSA) that coordinates several undergraduate Master's programs and participate in the activities of Bologna Business School, the business school of the University of Bologna, to which the candidate will be invited to contribute. Additionally, since 1992, DiSA offers a Ph.D. program in Management.
The Department of Management at the University of Bologna provides a dynamic research environment in which faculty members and distinguished visitors conduct both applied and theoretical research in all areas. A unique insight into the entrepreneurial and innovation processes, which involve significant societal changes. The Department of Management ranks first among the Italian Departments in the area of Economics, Management, and Statistics (according to the 2018 "Dipartimenti di eccellenza" project). It is composed of three branches in the towns of Bologna, Forlì, and Rimini.
The Banking Group at the Department of Management stands in leading positions in international rankings, and it extensively publishes in major banking and finance journals.
Expected Activities
The successful candidate will teach and conduct research in the area of Economics of Financial Markets and Institutions. The successful candidate will be required to lecture for a total of 120 hours, sometimes in English and primarily in the above areas.
