Associate professor position in ECONOMICS OF FINANCIAL MARKETS AND INSTITUTIONS

Admission Requirements

The selection is open to applicants who have:

1. candidates who have obtained national qualification in accordance with art. 16 of Law 240/2010 for the competition sector or for one of the competition sectors included in the same macro-sector and for the functions that are the subject of the procedure, or for higher functions provided they do not already hold those higher functions;
2. candidates who are eligible pursuant to Law 210/1998 for the category addressed by the call for applications, solely for the period of duration of the same;
3. professors permanently employed by a different University in the category addressed by the call for applications;
4. academics with permanent employment abroad, performing research activities or teaching at university level in positions that are equivalent to those addressed by the call for applications, as determined by reference to the equivalence tables issued by the Ministry.

It is not possible to participate in the procedure if, during the past three years, the applicant has worked for, or held research fellowships at or been enrolled on degree programmes at the University of Bologna. The three years are calculated from publication of the call for applications in the Italian Official Gazette.

Introduction

Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna was founded in 1088, and it is considered the oldest university in the Western World. The University of Bologna boasts over 87000 students enrolled, 32 Departments, 5 Schools, 5 Campuses, and nearly 6000 employed as instructors or support staff. UNIBO offers 78 international degree programs, 62 of which are delivered in English, 47 Ph.D. programs, 53 specialization schools, and 80 Master's programs. This heterogeneous nature diversified structure and investment in services' professionalization ensures reliable institutional support for the research team.
The position will be hosted by the Department of Management (DiSA) that coordinates several undergraduate Master's programs and participate in the activities of Bologna Business School, the business school of the University of Bologna, to which the candidate will be invited to contribute. Additionally, since 1992, DiSA offers a Ph.D. program in Management.
The Department of Management at the University of Bologna provides a dynamic research environment in which faculty members and distinguished visitors conduct both applied and theoretical research in all areas. A unique insight into the entrepreneurial and innovation processes, which involve significant societal changes. The Department of Management ranks first among the Italian Departments in the area of Economics, Management, and Statistics (according to the 2018 "Dipartimenti di eccellenza" project). It is composed of three branches in the towns of Bologna, Forlì, and Rimini.

The Banking Group at the Department of Management stands in leading positions in international rankings, and it extensively publishes in major banking and finance journals.

Expected Activities

The successful candidate will teach and conduct research in the area of Economics of Financial Markets and Institutions. The successful candidate will be required to lecture for a total of 120 hours, sometimes in English and primarily in the above areas.
