The Department of Finance of the Faculty of Law, Economics, and Finance is searching for Full Professor in Finance and Financial Institutions.

Your Role...

The Department of Finance is determined to continue its way to become a leading European finance department benefitting from its location in a truly international country and in one of the main financial centres in Europe. To accomplish this, it is looking for a Full Professor in Finance and Financial Institutions who will conduct impactful research leading to publication in leading finance journals, deliver strong teaching experience, contribute to study program development and acquire external research funding through active engagement with industry.

The Professor shall play an active role in further progressing and developing the Department of Finance as a leading European finance group. The package we offer is commensurate with this ambition.

Qualifications...

  • The candidate must provide a strong track record of publishing in top finance and/or economics journals.
  • The candidate shall show clear signs of continued productivity of highest quality research (e.g., a strong pipeline of working papers and work-in-progress projects) with good chances of publication in the top finance and/or economics journals.
  • It would be considered an asset if the candidate’s profile included documented expertise at the intersection of digital finance and institutions or sustainable finance and institutions.
  • The candidate shall have comprehensive teaching experience at the undergraduate as well as the graduate level, in any area of finance.
  • Additional requirements include either a PhD in Finance or Economics.
  • The University of Luxembourg is set in a multilingual context. The person hired on this position must be proficient in English and in one of the two official languages of Luxembourg: French or German. The University encourages its staff to learn the other official language and provides access to language courses to this end.

The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance offers three Bachelor programmes, five Master programmes of Management and Economics and six Masters of Laws (LL.M.), as well as several continuing education courses.
