The Faculty of Management, Economics, and Social Sciences of the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) invites applications for a professor position as

Professorship in Strategic Management (50%, Open Rank)

at the Department of Management. The position will be filled using the tenure-track procedure (initial limitation to four years, subsequent tenure if the tenure-track criteria are met) and includes a funded doctoral student position (50%). The expected start date is September 1, 2025.

The future professor will teach German and English courses at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels. The courses should cover different aspects of strategy and strategic management (e.g., business and corporate strategy, strategic planning, strategic alliance management).

The successful candidate must have demonstrated the ability to publish regularly in leading scientific journals in the field of strategic management.

As the University of Fribourg is bilingual (French/German), fluency in German and English is required, with passive knowledge of French or a declared desire to acquire it. The University offers attractive working conditions and a very competitive salary in international comparison.

Candidates should have a doctorate (Ph.D.) in management or in a related domain, preferably specializing in strategy or strategic management, a strong research record, and excellent teaching skills.
