The research carried out at the Department of Business Administration in the School of Business and Governance in TalTech deals with various aspects of business – entrepreneurship, knowledge and technology transfer, strategic management, marketing, supply chain management, accounting and performance management. The School has over 200 employees.

The Department of Business Administration invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in Accounting.

The purpose of the post is research and development and small scale teaching related activities in the field of accounting and corporate social responsibility.

The selected candidate will work closely with Professor Istemi Demirag in the Department of Business Administration at TalTech, who is a leading international expert in the field of Public–Private Partnerships and Hybrid Organisational forms in the above research themes. Applications are invited from candidates with an interest in, but not limited to, research themes in good governance and trust, accountability, corporate social responsibility, performance management and control, sustainability and/or environmental accounting issues in the private sector, public sector management and/or not-for-profit organisations. Interest in Public–Private Partnerships or Hybrid Organisational forms in the Baltic and Nordic states is also desirable. The selected candidate is expected to conduct research and development and small scale teaching related activities (incl. mentoring undergraduate students).

The employment contract is planned as temporary for the period of 2 years, from 01.03.2019 to 28.02.2021. The monthly gross salary for the post is up to 2,000 euros.

Qualification requirements

Previous background in accounting, sociology, applied psychology or organisational behaviour is desirable, but any other related discipline would also be considered. The post is suitable to someone with qualitative research skills and research methods in social science with an ability to conduct interviews with senior managers in the private and public sectors in Estonia, analyse narrative data and write up case studies. The PhD degree should have been obtained no later than 5 years ago.
