The University Camilo José Cela (UCJC) is a private university established in 2000 and based in Madrid, Spain. UCJC invites applications for a position as an International Education Full Time Professor and Director of a postgraduate program in leadership, innovation and education. The new position would teach several courses in different majors such as The Bachelor degrees programs in Early Years Education, Primary Education, Secundary Education  and The Expert Course and the Master programs in Education Leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB SUMMARY: As director of the master program, you will have direct responsibility for the administrative and academic management of the program. Also, Faculty members at UCJC should teach, carry out their own research agenda and provide administrative services to the department and faculties they work with.

Applicants should have expertise in formal teaching for undergraduate programmes, but may also be required to provide formal teaching for postgraduate programmes; ensure active involvement in research in  international education and globalization; act as a supervisor for graduate and postgraduate students; and research in critical analysis, intercultural communication, leadership, teamwork and problem-solving. Must be committed to undergraduate education and must be able to teach any subject in the above-mentioned areas. The teaching load will be flexible according to the academic and professional profile of the candidate and institutional needs. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to students and learning at a liberal arts and sciences university. Service responsibilities include student advising, mentoring, and taking an active role in curriculum design. All faculty members at UCJC are committed to perform a certain amount of administrative tasks such as assisting in the courses coordination or representing the university in national and international forums.

CONTRACT TYPE: Twelve-month, full-time.


  • Doctorate in the area of Education or closely related field.
  • EU Community passport.
  • Fluency in English and some level of Spanish.
  • Strong academic background in International Education and globalization.
  • Experience and demonstrated expertise regarding the application of instructional technology for a variety of purposes in a variety of classrooms.
  • Experience in working with instructional technology and distributed LMS, such as Blackboard, Moodle or Canvas.
  • Evidence of successful college-level teaching.
  • A commitment to interdisciplinary, academic service and active learning methodology is desirable.
  • Research in International Education and Globalization
  • Critical analysis of the assumptions and evidence that underpin policy and practice in international education


  • Evidence of commitment to retention and student-success initiatives.
  • Evidence of successful outreach and community engagement.
  • Professional experience in International Education and Globalization and research potential.

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: Relocation assistance (including housing, schools for children and courses on Spanish language and culture, among other support) will be provided by UCJC to new faculty relocating to commence an appointment with the University.

STARTING DATE: September 1, 2019.
