We seek an individual with a solid research, supervision, and teaching track record commensurate with the professorial level and who will commit to advancing our vision to be recognised as a source of value for a better world.

Duties:

  • Developing and delivering academic content in the Development Finance area (on the PhD, MPhil and Postgraduate Diploma programmes);
  • Supervising postgraduate research at PhD and MPhil levels;
  • Contributing to research and publishing research results in accredited, high-impact international journals;
  • Participating in the administration of some departmental activities;
  • Participating in social impact activities of USB.

Requirements:

  • PhD in the area of Economics and/or Finance with a strong development focus;
  • Established national and international research record;
  • Experience in teaching at postgraduate level;
  • Experience in supervising postgraduate students;
  • Experience in a senior leadership role and willingness to act in such a role;
  • Ability to develop industry networks.

Established networks in development-oriented organisations.

  • Die ontwikkeling en lewering van akademiese inhoud op die gebied van Ontwikkelingsfinansies (in die PhD-, MPhil- en nagraadse diploma-programme);
  • Toesighouding van nagraadse navorsing op PhD- en MPhil-vlak;
  • Bydrae tot navorsing en die publikasie van navorsingsresultate in geakkrediteerde, hoë-impak-, internasionale tydskrifte;
  • Deelname aan die administrasie van sekere departementele aktiwiteite;
  • Deelname aan USB se sosiale-impak-aktiwiteite.

Vereistes:

  • ’n PhD op die gebied van Ekonomie en/of Finansies met ’n sterk fokus op ontwikkeling;
  • ‘n Bewese nasionale en internasionale navorsingsrekord;
  • Onderrigervaring op nagraadse vlak;
  • Ervaring in toesighouding van nagraadse studente;
  • Ervaring in ’n senior leierskaprol en bereidwilligheid om in sodanige rol op te tree;
  • Vermoë om industrienetwerke te ontwikkel.
