Faculty Position in International Relations/Global Governance

ESADE Business School, Department of Society, Politics, and Sustainability

ESADE Business School seeks to appoint an Assistant or Associate professor in the area of International Relations/Global Governance. The successful candidate is expected to join ESADE in September 2020.

Candidates should have a PhD at the time of joining ESADE in the areas of International Relations/Global Governance. S/he should also have a proven record of publications in high quality journals. Excellent teaching skills are expected, since she/he will be in charge of core courses on international relations and global governance in the undergraduate program “Global Governance, Economics & Legal Order”. There can also be opportunities for elective courses in different programs, including Executive Education programs.

The Department of Society, Politics, and Sustainability (formerly known as Department of Social Sciences) at ESADE is a lively academic group, including professors teaching and doing research in sociology, ethics, CSR, sustainability, corporate political activity, and geopolitics. The Department has close links with different international research networks (www.esade.edu/web/eng/faculty-research/faculty/departments/socialsciences). The Department is particularly interested in candidates doing research on the role of business in global governance and issues related to global sustainability governance

ESADE contains a business school and a law school, currently spread across three campuses: Barcelona, Sant Cugat del Vallès and Madrid. In turn, ESADE is a member of the Ramon Llull University. The school’s official mission is “to educate highly-professional individuals aware of their responsibilities as national and global citizens, sensitive to issues of solidarity and social justice and keen to engage in collective projects.” Its tagline is “inspiring futures.”

It runs a wide range of business courses of Business Administration and Law at degree and postgraduate levels in Spanish and English. ESADE has co-operation agreements with many top universities around the globe and offers a wide range of programs in all branches of Business Administration and Law.

The salary for this position will be competitive. Assistance will be given towards the cost of relocation. Speaking Spanish or Catalan is not a requirement, though support in learning languages can be provided if desired.
