Salary: Appointment will be made on the Lecturer Pay scale (109BN): €34,813 - €84,556 at a point in line with current Government pay policy

Appointment will be made no higher than point [8] [i.e. €49,422]

*This position is a Tenure Track position which is 5-years in the first instance, permanency is subject to satisfying the tenure requirements.

The successful candidate will be expected to take up the appointment on 1st August 2020 or earlier.

Position Summary:

The School has implemented extensive innovation in both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees as well as in a new portfolio of executive education.  All these activities are delivering impactful programmes which are underpinned by personal development, ethical values, rigorous research and cutting-edge expertise from industry.

The School is seeking additional expertise in the area of marketing in order to help achieve this new enhanced mission.  The School delivers two leading international MScs in Digital Marketing Strategy and Marketing. These programmes attract talented individuals from all over the World and both heavily feature digital themes, the latter offering further specialization. Modules include: Data Analytics, Digital Strategy Implementation, Digital Communication, Sciences and Technology, Digital Design and User Experience, Brand Management, Consumer Behavior, Social Media Marketing, Digital Business Model and E-commerce.  The Assistant Professor in Marketing would be expected to be able to cover teaching (undergraduate and postgraduate with potential for executive education) in Marketing generally as well as digital and data-based marketing.  Applicants with an expertise in Marketing analytics and econometric marketing analysis of big data are particularly welcome.

The School intends to hire a research-active academic who at Assistant Professor level will have a minimum of at least one publication ranked by the Chartered Association of Business School at or above level 3 (ABS 3 star).  It would be advantageous to have an FT50 publication.

The ideal candidate(s) for the post(s) will have or be close to completing a relevant PhD, has at least one ABS3 star publication, will be able to demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching, research and administration, consistent with the demands of modern business education.
