Introduction

The University of Bologna was founded in 1088, UNIBO is considered the oldest university in the Western World. UNIBO boasts over 86000 students enrolled, 33 Departments, 11 Schools, 5 Campuses, and nearly 6000 employed as instructors or support staff. UNIBO offers 43 international degree programs, 21 of which are delivered in English, 51 Ph.D. programs, 47 specialization schools, and 64 Master's programs. This heterogeneous nature, diversified structure, and investment in the professionalization of support services ensure reliable institutional support for the research teams.
The researcher position will be hosted by the Department of Management (DiSA). DiSA coordinates several undergraduates, Master's programs, and oversees the activities of Bologna Business School, the business school of the University of Bologna. Additionally, since 1992, DiSA offers a Ph.D. program in Management.
The Department of Management at the University of Bologna provides a dynamic research environment where faculty members and distinguished visitors conduct both applied and theoretical research in all areas. The Department of Management ranks first among the Italian Departments in the area of Economics, Management and Statistics (according to the 2018 “Departments of Excellence” project).
The Management Engineering research group covers a broad range of topics, including innovation management, entrepreneurship, performance measurement systems, business sustainability, operations management, aiming to contribute to the advancement of the theory and to provide actionable managerial tools. The main research areas refer to:

Activities to be performed

The contract includes 350 hours of supplementary teaching and assistance to students for each academic year covered by the contract. The contract shall schedule 60 hours of teaching on an annual basis at the Bologna Business School. The researcher should be able to speak both English and Italian.
The researcher’s activities must be linked to the development of the project entitled: “Assistant professor (tenure track) in ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT." Furthermore, both didactic and research activities will be preferably focused on the project “Sustainable transition for enterprises and industrial eco-systems: performances measurement, enabling factors and impacts".
The researcher’s activities must be linked to the fields included in the scientific area 09/B3. The research activity must aim to attain a top-notch academic profile, including the publication of papers in first-rate international journals.
The target to be reached at the end of the three years consists either in at least two articles ranked in classes 3 or 4 or 1 article ranked in class 4* according to the Journal Quality Guide of the Association of Business Schools (ABS), or in a cumulated SJR (SCIMAGO Journal Rank) index greater or equal to 14.1, or a number of 146 Scopus citations in the last five years. It is also expected that research results be presented internationally. It is also expected that the research results will be presented internationally. The researcher must participate actively and consistently to the department activities and contribute significantly to their enhancement.

Ranking List and recruitment

After the exams, the Board shall prepare the final general list based on the merits.
The list based on merits is approved pursuant to the administration resolution and will be published in Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna Official Bulletin.
The use of the final candidate list is strictly bound to study and research related to the scientific sector SSD ING-IND 35 Business and Management Engineering.
The Department of Management - DiSA will propose recruitment by a majority vote of the professors and associate professors of the Department and approved by the Board of Governors.

The Department will also propose the date of commencement of the employment contract.
