The Department of Computer Science is dedicated to the academic excellence through teaching and research in Informatics, Computer Science, Signal and Image processing, Computer Networks, and Telecommunications. The Department is developing considerable strengths in the area of Informatics and offers a Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science supplemented by a Master of Information Systems and Digital Innovation.

The Department of Computer Science seeks to appoint a Professor in Computer Science who can contribute to both our Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels and who is committed to the success and development of Neapolis University Pafos.

The successful candidate needs to acquire the following:

  • A PhD in Computer Science (or related discipline) from an accredited university
  • A BSC and MSC in Computer Science (or related discipline)
  • Original publications in international scientific journals or other publications of recognized value that forebode important contribution to science.
  • At least eleven years in total university or other equivalent work experience, after the acquirement of a doctoral degree, of which four years must be university work experience or holding a position at the level of Professor or Associate Professor in a recognized university.
  • International recognition of the candidate’s scientific work
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
  • Impeccable integrity and work ethic; ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters in the higher education setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Greek and English language
  • Supervision and successful completion of research programs or doctoral theses.
  • Expected to reside in Pafos

Major Duties:

  1. To teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses offered by the Department (in both English and Greek)
  2. To teach on associated programmes offered by the Department.
  3. To be actively involved in research, that will result in publication in highly-rated journals.
  4. To undertake administrative duties as may be required.
  5. To participate in R&D projects funded by the EU/other institutions.
  6. To represent the School at seminars and conferences.
  7. To promote the image of the School in the wider academic and business communities.
  8. To supervise and guide research students.
  9. To enhance teaching innovation and contribute new research ideas.
  10. Expected to travel for potential marketing purposes.


Computer Science and/or Digital Innovation


Essential/ Desirable

PhD in Computer Science or related discipline


Previous university lecturing and teaching experience


Ability to teach the programmes in both Greek and English


Ability to teach across a range of programmes, with evidence of teaching excellence


Actively involved in research, with publications in journals


Ability to contribute to the Research strategy of the department


Be able to work in cooperation with colleagues and undertake appropriate administrative and managerial duties


Willingness to relocate and associate with the local community


Ability to contribute towards the department’s teaching and research plans


Willingness for continuous personal and academic development


Commitment to reside in Pafos


Actively demonstrate leadership skills
